NANI Welcomes Dr. Michael DeHaan
We are happy to announce the arrival of Dr. Michael DeHaan to the NANI family. Dr. DeHaan comes to us from Loyola and will be focusing on NANI’s vascular access needs at our Willow Springs Surgery Center in Justice, Illinois.
Dr. DeHaan is a highly regarded general surgeon with more than 20 years of experience specializing in dialysis access vascular surgery. He performs minimally invasive AV fistula creation for dialysis patients.
Dr. DeHaan earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship in general surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center, Chicago, and completed a Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery Mini Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed the Da Vinci Robotic Surgery Training in Chicago and trained in AV Access Education at the Dialysis Access Institute in South Carolina. Dr. DeHaan was awarded the American Academy of Family Physicians Excellence in Teaching Award and was named recipient of the Patient’s Choice Award for Outstanding Surgical Techniques. Dr. DeHaan is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
