- Dr. Obasi received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Nigeria. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine in Nigeria and at Cook County Hospital Chicago, he went on to Nephrology fellowship training at Rush University, also in Chicago. Dr. Obasi is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine with the University of Illinois and acts as Medical Director for several dialysis units, including the Merrionette Park Dialysis Facility and the acute Dialysis program at Little Company of Mary Hospital. He is the current President of Southwest Nephrology Associates. His special interests include Home Dialysis therapies, Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease.
