- Dr. McLaughlin grew up in Rockford, Illinois. She did her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and attended medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago- Rockford. She did her residency and fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. McLaughlin is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Obesity Medicine. She is a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians. Her areas of interest include chronic kidney disease, geriatric nephrology and incorporating lifestyle changes to help manage kidney disease and hypertension. She also serves as the medical director of Fresenius Oak Forest and US Renal Scottsdale dialysis units.
