A celebration of life for NANI patient Pamela McClinton

Blog Date: March 8, 2023

Kidney transplant is a life-saving treatment for people with end-stage kidney disease. Unfortunately, the demand for donor kidneys far outweighs the supply, and many patients end up waiting for years for a suitable donor. However, thanks to the efforts of doctors like Dr. Gautam Bhanushali at NANI, more patients are getting the chance for a transplant.

Pamela McClinton was one such patient who was suffering from end-stage kidney disease and had been waiting for a suitable donor. Pamela McClinton's daughter recently donated her kidney to her mother, and now she aims to raise awareness about living organ donations. Her story is an inspiring example of the power of love and the impact of organ donation.

Dr. Bhanushali is not just a skilled doctor but also an advocate for kidney health. He is aware of the growing problem of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the United States and the urgent need for more donors. His work is a testament to the fact that skilled doctors and advocates for kidney health can make a real difference in the lives of patients suffering from kidney disease.

Living organ donation is an act of kindness and selflessness that can save the life of a loved one or a stranger. According to the National Kidney Foundation, more than 2,000 new names are added each month to the national waiting list for organ transplants, and about 17 people die every day while waiting on that list. Dr. Bhanushali hopes that by raising awareness about CKD and organ donation, more people will come forward to donate their organs and save lives.
